The closest place we have to real human civilization is a place called Whitehorse... and yes, it is in Canada. You know your life is sad when you get excited to go to a town that is more ghetto than Layton. Well on the opening night of Batman: The Dark Knight, a bunch of us decided it would be fun to go up there, because we HAD to see it. upon arriving in Whitehorse, after making a wal-mart stop of course, we decided to have dinner before the show started. Now in Whitehorse there are plenty of restaurants to choose from.. such as Quizno's, Domino's, KFC, and yes.. even McDonalds. you may be thinking right now, "so what.. we eat there every day. nothing new." well for people who have been deprived of these restaurants for four months, those restaurants you take for granted are like gold mines! So we all decided on A&W, why? I'm not exactly sure. But the point of my whole story here is that Emily and I ordered the rootbeer floats expecting a nice refreshing treat. Nope. They were just like Grandma Howe's when she didn't realize her icecream was bad and it tasted all slimey. Boy did it take me back to some good childhood memories.

When I Ripped My Pants...

the wise man tacked his (her) craft upon the wall... (sung to the tune, the wise man built his house upon the rock
For our first enrichment activity we made crafts. We each made our own, so we had three of pretty much the same craft. We decided to hang all three in our room. Emily and Jenny taped theirs to the wall, while Dyan tacked hers. needless to say the foolish ones (Em and Jen's) crafts fell off the wall too many times so now only Dyan's remains upon the wall. If any of you are curious.. the saying says, "where the spirit is love dwells and peace resides." and also the awesome one in the middle is Jenny's.

Let’s talk about Canadians? Eh?

A planned “Slow” day turned out to be the day from…. Canada. (You thought we were going to say hell, well it turns out it is just about the same thing) Only one ship came into the dock today, so you think we could handle it.. but no! The whole country of Canada decided to pay us a little visit. What size shoe do you wear? Seems like a pretty simple question, but not for CANADIANS! “uh, probably a 9, 8 or 7. Possibly 10”

To-tally!
Ok, Jen here. So when I was hurrying off to work the other day somehthing tragic happened to my blessed beautiful feet. More just my right foot, (the more critical of the pair). I was walking by the bubbling brook that greets us as we walk to work every morning and as always it distracts me for a moment. It is so simple and serene! But as I passed it, I realized "Gee, I may be late for work" so I pick up my pace. While I was power walking, I scramble through my purse to find my phone for the time, so I can pace myself accordingly. As I was looking at the communication device, walking with a spring in my step, I was completely unaware of the danger that lay before me. The sidewalk, about halfway down the block between 11, and 10 avenue, was elevated about an inch and a half! Seriously, it's like I was in the valley looking up a cliff! So being distracted, I full on kick the ledge and proceed into a running trip. I almost fell on my face, but since my reflexes are like a tiger, I managed to keep my balance! But I had no time to stop and laugh at the situation.. I had to get to work! So as I picked up my pace, I looked down at my toe to check out my battlescar and I see this huge hunk of skin flapping in the wind! It was so disgusting! But I couldn't stop and check out the damage, afterall, this happened only a block and a half away from home, and work was another six blocks away! So long story short.. don't wear flip flops to work!
